Sorting and Packing

I'm getting excited now. It's only a couple of days before I fly out to Vancouver! I'm in the final throes of planning and I will soon be doing (and about time!). My stomach is tightening and my pulse is increasing. I've been collecting together and sorting through all of my kit for the tour in an attempt to calm down a bit...

All of my Canada kit in one place

It seems quite a lot now that I've gathered it in one place, but it all fits stuffed into the four panniers or strapped to the rack or bike. I'm not going to be the lightest traveller crossing Canada on a bicycle this summer but I don't think I've done too badly with the kit I've gathered for a solo, unsupported 3 month cycle-camping trip.

I've only really got packing up and a few final tasks left to do. This afternoon I'm packing the bike in a cardboard box. Tomorrow, I'll pack my kit for the flight and hopefully on Sunday I won't have a whole lot to do. Of course, that's never going to happen, but no worries...

Wish me luck!

Good luck Shaun. I've already sent home a few kilos of kit. The Appalachian mountains helped with that!! Stay safe. Stuart

Yes. I'd been following Mick F's chopper-tastic adventure. (He's a regular on the CTC forums, so I know him online). Fantastic acheivement. I think I'll stick with the Nomad...
